The Arts Development team is committed to supporting and promoting the use of Arts Award across schools in Leeds. We work collaboratively with the local deliverer to provide Arts Award training opportunities for school staff and artists.

What is Arts Award?

Arts Award is a qualification which supports young people in their development as artists and arts leaders.

Young people set their own arts challenges, explore local arts activities and the professional arts world, and carry out a leadership project.

The award is accessible to any young person aged 11 to 25, and embraces all cultural interests and backgrounds.

The award can be achieved at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels in any art form. It is accredited at levels 1, 2 and 3 in the English National Qualifications Framework.

Trinity College London is the awarding body for the Arts Award, and works in close partnership with Arts Council England.

More information can be found at: www.artsaward.org.uk

Regional development agencies support the delivery of the award, bringing a wide range of hands-on experience of working in the arts with young people. CapeUK is the regional agency for the Arts Award in the Yorkshire and Humber region. For more information, go to: www.artsaward.org.uk/yorkshire.
