Leeds Schools Music Association

Every year, The Leeds Schools’ Music Association (LSMA) organises spectacular festival concerts in Leeds Town Hall in which schools from across the city come together to perform. These include a Christmas Concert (open to all schools) and a Festival for primary schools in the spring term. Children are given the opportunity to play in various instrumental groups and sing in choirs up to 400 voices strong. This year a large singing festival is planned for the summer term.
The impact of taking part in these unforgettable performances greatly enhances a young person’s music-making: the effect can last a lifetime.
The planning and management are in the hands of a committee of headteachers, school staff and representatives from ArtForms.
Information about concerts and how children can take parts is sent to schools and to ArtForms Musician Teachers.
If you teach in a school and would like to join the committee or take another active role in the organisation or the running of the concerts, please contact the ArtForms office on tel: 0113 230 4074.
