In addition to the standard ways to use the website we have included the following functionality:

This allows you access to move round the website using your keyboard, rather than using a mouse or the website menus.

Using Keystroke Access
Computers access websites through a program called a Browser, for example many people use Internet Explorer. Different browser use different key combination, which are as follows…
PC/Windows
- Internet Explorer
(v5+) - Hold down [ Alt ] and tap the appropriate key. - Netscape
(v.6+) – Hold down [ Alt ] and tap the appropriate key. - Mozilla Firefox
(v1.5+) – Hold down [Alt], [Shift] and tap the appropriate key
Mac OS-X
- Safari
Hold down [Ctrl ] and tap the appropriate key - Mozilla Firefox
(v1.5+) – Hold down [Alt], [Shift] and tap the appropriate key
Windows or Mac? Is there a little Apple symbol in the top left of your screen? If there is then you are on a Mac OS-X computer; otherwise you are probably on Windows.
Which Browser? When in your browser, find the ‘Help’ menu. In here should be a menu option of ‘About…’ (or similar). What comes after ‘About’ is the name of the browser you are using.
My browser isn’t listed…
We have listed the most popular browsers on the market as this website went live. Older browsers may have ‘accesskey’ functionality; you will be able to find out about this in the ‘Help’ menu.
Resizable (or scalable) text.
You may wish to increase or reduce the size of text on this website. All recent web browsers allow users to change the size of text; here is an overview of how to achieve this in the most popular browsers.
(A web browser is a type of computer program used to view the World Wide Web in the same way as you use a Word Processor to view text documents. There are several web browsers available depending on the type of computer you have.)
PC / Windows
- Internet Explorer
(v6+)go to the ‘view’ menu and select ‘text size’ – you have a choice of 5 text sizes in total. - Internet Explorer
(v7+)go to the ‘page’ menu and select ‘text size’. Note: in addition to scaling the text; this version of Internet Explorer allows you to zoom in and out. This menu option is above ‘text size’ in the ‘page’ menu. - Firefox (v1.5+)
go to the ‘view’ menu and select ‘text size’. You can keep increasing or decreasing the text size. [Ctrl] and the plus (+) and minus (-) keys also change the text style. Choosing ‘normal’ (or [ctrl] and 0 ) will re-set the size to normal).
Mac OS/X
- Safari
go to the ‘View’ menu and choose ‘Make text bigger’ or ‘Make text smaller’. [⌘] The plus (+) and minus (-) keys also change the text size. - Firefox (v1.5+)
